Sleep Study...Third times a charm?!?

So yes, last Wednesday Ian and Maddie headed out for her third sleep study in the past year or so!  We haven't heard the results yet, but our fingers, toes, arms, legs, and whatever else we are cable of are crossed and we are hoping for good news!  I have been playing phone tag with the nurse these past couple of days, and even though we have an appointment with Dr. Hassan on the 13th to go over the results, I'm just anxious to hear the news!  Based on our own testing at home, we think that her sleep apnea has drastically improved since doing the jaw distraction...if we let her sleep with her trach capped (meaning she is basically breathing normal on her own) she sleeps very peacefully and hardly ever snores unless she is congested and/or has a cold.

This sleep study was a little different than the previous ones, they did a PEZ (I think that's what it's called but having a hard time finding factual info on this) sleep study to get some more in depth information, the downside is that this required a tube going down her nose into her lungs.  Ian wasn't sure Maddie would go for this, and honestly when I tried to prep her for this sleep study, that is the one thing she complained about.  But...after some crying and fighting they were finally able to get the tube down and surprisingly enough she kept it there all night!

Getting started with a smile on her face!

iPad to the rescue!!

This just looks like craziness to me!

Almost done, including the tube down the nose.

Ready for bed!

We'll keep everyone posted on the results once we get them.  Until then...Happy Sleeping!
